Russia hosted its first-ever symbolic wedding ceremony for humanoid robots in Moscow, where two AI-powered robots, Robert and Matilda, were declared “robot spouses” during an event at the Pushkin Library. Designed as an office worker and blogger, and a ballerina respectively, the robots exchanged vows and symbolic wedding bracelets in a ceremony led by host Maria Pantyukhina.
According to Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, the event marked a first in the country’s history. Robert and Matilda were previously introduced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026).
