Right now Mars is moving behind the Sun from Earth’s point of view. NASA is using Perseverance as a kind of far-side solar observatory: it can see the side of the Sun that is hidden from Earth.
The images used in the video are from Nov. 26, 2025 (Sol 1695) and on Nov. 28, 2025 (Sol 1697).
