Right now, in the cold, silent depths beyond the edge of our solar system, two human-made objects are drifting farther from Earth than anything else we’ve ever built. They are small, fragile, and powered by the last fading traces of radioactive decay — but they carry with them the story of our entire planet. Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 were launched not just to explore other worlds, but to push the limits of what was possible and to leave a piece of humanity behind in the vastness of space. What started as a daring plan to visit the outer planets quickly turned into one of the greatest journeys in the history of science. Along the way, they revealed hidden volcanoes, strange magnetic fields, icy oceans, and new mysteries at the edge of the solar system. Their journey is still not over and neither is our fascination with them.
